Lexie Shay
Owner, Director & Educator
With 24 years of experience in the hair industry, Lex founded Vault Ninety One with a vision to create more than just a salon—a luxury, judgement-free space where creativity, individuality and exceptional hair come together.
Known for her bespoke colour work, precision cutting and alternative styling, Lex has built a reputation for creating personalised transformations that celebrate every client's unique style while delivering an elevated salon experience.
Her passion for education and artistic excellence has earned her recognition throughout the industry, including being selected for the prestigious Australian FAME Team, becoming an AHFA Artistic Team Finalist, achieving Top 50 industry recognition, and working alongside some of the world's leading hair artists through education, editorial work and stage presentations.
For Lex, hair is about more than just how it looks—it's about helping people feel confident, empowered and unapologetically themselves. Every appointment is tailored to the individual because great hair should never be about fitting in—it should be about becoming the most authentic version of you.
Jack
(Apprentice)
Now in his third year of his apprenticeship, Jack has truly come into his own as a stylist. Through consistent hands-on experience and our weekly Training, His skills have grown fast — and it shows. He’s meticulous with his work, takes real pride in the details, and is especially strong with clean, considered cuts, lived-in colour and refining hair so it looks effortless yet elevated. Jack loves the process just as much as the result, always wanting to understand the why behind what he’s doing and how to make hair work better for each individual. Calm, focused and incredibly thoughtful, he’s all about creating modern, wearable hair that feels true to you — the kind of stylist you can trust to listen, execute and keep evolving with every appointment.
Lila
(School Based Apprentice)
Lila is one of the fresh faces at Vault Ninety One, bringing warmth, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for making people feel confident.
Just starting her School based apprenticeship, Lila is developing her skills alongside our experienced team through hands-on education and in-salon training. She has a calm, caring nature and loves creating beautiful finishes, luxurious basin experiences and helping clients feel their absolute best.
Lila is currently welcoming clients for her signature Blow-Dry Memberships—the perfect way to enjoy beautiful, salon-finished hair every week while supporting the next generation of hair artists. Whether you're after sleek and polished, soft waves or effortless volume, she'll have you leaving the salon feeling refreshed and confident.
Sammy
(Freelance Nail Technician)
Sammy is an incredibly talented nail artist with a passion for creating bespoke nail designs that are as unique as the people wearing them. From timeless, elegant sets to bold, artistic creations, every appointment is tailored to reflect your personal style.
As an independent freelance artist based within Vault Ninety One, Sammy operates her own business and manages her appointments directly, allowing her to provide a personalised experience for every client while remaining part of the Vault community.
Whether you're after flawless BIAB, intricate nail art or a fresh set you'll never want to stop looking at, Sammy's creativity, attention to detail and commitment to quality shine through in every appointment.
